Say what you will about Tarantino, America has him to thank for the wonder that is Christoph Waltz. Jamie Foxx is perfect as Django and the film is a gleeful Leone homage. Not perfect (long-ish. Always so long-ish!) but Quentin seems to finally be emerging from his unfortunate Kill Bill / Grindhouse phase.
I could go on a rant about how much more relevant to the issue of slavery 'Django' is than 'Lincoln' but it's a new year and I'm trying to get past the Lincoln hate.
